Did your loved one put a ring on your finger this Festive Season & New Year?
Planning your wedding should be exciting and fun but can be a little bit daunting. So we’ve asked our Wedding Team here at the Falcon to put together their top 10 tips to help you create your perfect wedding day.
TIP ONE – Start early
Select your date and get planning early. Doing this means you’ll get the best choices and avoid disappointment. Work out how many people you will want to invite and this will be a good starting point on choosing the right venue. If you’d like a church wedding you’ll need to coordinate dates with Church and venue. St Michael’s Church is a 2 minute walk from The Falcon or if a civil ceremony is more your thing we are fully licenced for weddings inside and in our garden. For more information click here.
According to Hitched the most popular wedding dates of 2020 are 20th June (Summer Solstice) Saturday 25th July, 1st August and 5th September. Other popular dates include New Year’s Eve and 29th February (Leap Day)
TIP TWO – Make planning fun
We believe that the journey of planning your wedding to your actual wedding day should be as stress free and enjoyable as possible. That’s why from the moment you begin your wedding journey with us at the Falcon we’ll ensure every moment is a memorable one. Prosecco and ideas at your first meeting with our team and the reassurance that you will be in safe hands. Our Wedding Coordinator Debbie has been planing weddings at the Falcon for over 15 years and can offer great advice from suppliers to the right wedding setting to suit you and your budget. Don’t just take our word for it, check out our Bride & Groom’s testimonials.
TIP THREE – Ideas
We absolutely love Pinterest for planning. There are so many wonderful ideas from beautiful wedding dresses, hair styles to unique wedding favours and gifts. We often add ideas to our Pinterest Wedding Boards so do join us there.
TIP FOUR – Be organised
Create a master document with schedule, suppliers details, contact numbers and other important information, which can be printed out and shared with your chief helpers.
TIP FIVE – Don’t forget the Groom
It’s his day too! Let him be a part of the day and find out what he’d like to get involved in. Consider his outfits and his Best Man and Ushers, how will they compliment your dress and the Bridesmaids and the overall aesthetic.
TIP SIX – Choose a menu you would enjoy
Our Chefs at the Hotel like to be involved at an early stage of your wedding planning and can be on hand to say hello and talk menus at your first planning meeting with Debbie. Chef Aaron advises choosing a menu that you will enjoy, your favourite dishes… After all it’s your big day, a lot of thought can be given to guests but not to the Bride and Groom’s own preferences. Think canapes & Champagne or fish & chips with a Cornish cream tea. It’s truly up to you! To make your wedding breakfast dreams come true and for more inspiration click here.
TIP SEVEN – Be budget clever
If your budget is a little bit tight our team recommend spending less on wedding cars and favours and putting focus on getting the venue right, it’s where you and your guests will be spending most of your day. Speak to our Team about how they can tailor our space here at The Falcon to suit every budget and every taste. From small weddings in our garden room, Large themed weddings in our wedding suite, to beautiful marquees on our lawns. The only limiting factor is your imagination.
TIP EIGHT – Make it easy
Give some thought about where you would like to spend your wedding night. More and more brides and grooms are opting to enjoy their wedding party up until the very last second. At the Falcon you can enjoy your very own wedding suite with aqua spa bath and we have ample rooms for your guests too!
Also having a room at the venue means you have somewhere to escape to for five minutes to re-apply make-up, change, or just to take some time out to soak up the day.
TIP NINE – Don’t be afraid to ask
It’s your wedding day, and that means it should flow exactly how you want it to. So don’t be afraid to ask your wedding venue for exactly what you’d like. That might be a finger buffet rather than a sit down dinner or long tables rather than round, whatever the Q is our team are here to make your wedding wishes come true.
TIP TEN – Take time out through the day to stop and enjoy the moment.
From your breakfast, to putting on your dress, bridesmaids arriving and flowers there will be so much happening even before you arrive at the church. So ask your bridesmaids, best man and ushers to take on responsibilities and roles which allow you to take time out and really enjoy the moment.
We would love to get to know you and work together to discover your dreams for your big day… Tell us your budget and together we will create your unique celebration.call 01288 352005 and ask for Debbie or book an appointment here
