FISHING IN BUDE

This information was edited by Dick Turner (a local at the Brendon Arms, and a previous Relief Manager). Dick is a keen angler himself and is a member of the Bude Canal Fishing Association. Dick works at Waterfront Fishing and Shooting, the Wharf, Bude (01288 359 606) which supplies all fishing and shooting accessories.

They provide an extensive range of coarse, carp, spinning & boat tackle. Live coarse bait available all year round, all frozen sea baits, peeler and rag in season.

Shore and beach fishing information: Bass, Ray, ,Mackerel, Whiting and Dogfish can be caught from Bude Breakwater. Crackington Haven and Widemouth Bay are good beaches. Crooklets, Maer and Northcott Mouth are better fished 2 hours lower water up. Please ask at the Waterfront Fishing & Shooting for advice. Please see below for more fishing information.
